Camp Hearties FAQ- Revised 2018

Camp Hearties
Frequently Asked Questions

Hearties, are you wondering what this whole Camp Hearties I keep tweeting is all about? Want to get in on the fun but you're still not quite sure you want to jump in with both pant legs? Well, I'm here to answer the What, Who, When, Where, Why, & How of Camp Hearties.

WHAT: Camp Hearties is a virtual summer camp for Hearties. All is done online through email and social media. Teams answer tasks with pictures and submit a collage of all their answers. Then our cast judge, Ben Rosenbaum, will judge and I will reveal the rankings here, on my blog, every Sunday!

WHO: Hearties of course! Hearties are the campers! I am the Camp Director and Ben Rosenbaum is Director of Games.  I"m sure we can get Nurse Faith if there are any photoshop injuries :)

WHEN: Registration opens Monday, May 28th.  Hearties will have the next few days to get their teams together. Friday, June 1st, the first task will be emailed to Team Captains and teams will have one week to answer the tasks and get their submission back to me.  Sunday, June 10th, will be our first judging reveal!  There will be 4 tasks, so the last day will be Sunday, July 1st.

WHERE: Everywhere! If you have a computer, tablet, smartphone, access to the internet at all, then you are there!

WHY:  Why not? I wanted to do something to make the vast world of Hearties a little smaller. To get Hearties together that may never have met before. Not everyone can get to HFR, so this is just a small way to bring International Hearties and USA Hearties together for a few weeks of fun! It's the fun of camp without the bugs!

HOW: So. this is the big one right? How does ALL this work?!  A Heartie who wants to get a team together emails me for a team slot once Registration opens.  Teams will be 8-10 Hearties. So there should be plenty of room for all! Once a Heartie has a registration form, they fill it out with their team and get it back to me.  If you are looking to be on a team, but don't necessarily want to be the captain to put it all together, I will have a "bus stop" post on my facebook page. Comment on that post that you are looking for a team. I will direct Captains that are looking to fill their spots to you.  Teams can then communicate in whatever way works best for them.  Whether it's facebook messenger, a secret group on facebook, or a twitter group message. Anything works. Just please keep it off public social media.  Anonymity of who is on the teams is important. It keeps it unbiased for the judge and more fun for the other teams and Hearties following along!  So, don't tweet or facebook your teammates or reference your team name. Once Camp is over teams can reveal themselves if they wish. But I will never reveal who is on a team.

I hope that answers your questions. If you have any others, please feel free to ask me via Twitter or Facebook.

See you at camp!
