Camp is back and better than ever! I was delighted to see so many #Hearties turned out! I made this map to show where all 117 Campers are from. Camp Hearties truly is an International camp!

If you followed along last year, you will remember the points system was dependent upon how a team was ranked compared to other teams.  This year I have changed up the judging quite a bit! Each team will receive 1 point for each completed task. So that they should start off with 6 points! Then our judge, Ben Rosenbaum, has 4 Brownie Points, and any guest judge has 4 S'more Points. These extra points are added to the original 6 giving the team the points for that week, which will then be added to any points they were awarded from previous weeks.  I have posted the Brownie and S'more points above so check those out! Following I will post the teams in the same order every week,by the order they registered, not by ranking.  The ranking will only be posted on the scorecard at the bottom.  So, enjoy all the creative submissions the teams gave us this week and the wonderful comments from the judges and myself.  Ben's comments will appear in blue and Andrea's will appear in purple.

Row House Rebels

Ben :Gotta love a tent that doubles as a snack! That's packing efficiency!
I'm glad brownie has his iPhone—he's got a Twitter addiction! That's a whole lot of plaid on those Emojis which I'm sure Lee (and his pants) would love. Rosie? Not as much... Cute pup! No bear would dare approach.
Andrea: Vegemite as bear repellent is a great touch!

Britches in Stitches

Ben: When Calls the Tents! Love those! Especially miniature grass on top of the real grass! The deer bride is Elizabeth? The Bear is Jack? If I'm following this correctly then very clever and well done! Brownie's got friends! The perfect homesickness cute (I meant to write cure but autocorrect changed to cute, and I'm going to leave that... Because cute)!
Andrea:These guys win the funny points! The DVD tents are hilarious!

HV Chickadees

Ben: That's a great campsite! I want to go to there. Love the song! E Thatch needs more than one match! Excellent demonstration of bear protection. No denying those fearsome action shots!
Andrea: Love the creative reinterpretation of Take me out to the ball game! So cute!

Constable's Company

Ben:Great wallpaper/background! Nice song tune choice, I see what you're doing there.Well done on disguising the identities of your Heartie participants, I applaud you for reading the fine print... And great tents! You could have a wedding reception under the outdoor option! Beach camping? That sounds alright!  That's some serious camp defense! The penguin might be overkill though, you don't wanna hurt someone😂!
Andrea: Bringing a pet dog as a comfort item? I totally understand that! Cute!

Cowbelles

Ben:Dig the snacks. This is Camp Hearties not camp health! Those tents are the real deal... Actually this whole collage looks like a real plan we can put into action. We've got everything we need including an early warning bear alert system. Let's go camping!
Andrea:  (Great name). This entry has great presentation! I love the genuine collage feel.

Rip-Roaring Hearties Chicks

Ben: I see what your song is about: a meatball falls off a plate... Some other stuff happens... Jack and Elizabeth get married! Great job fitting everything into one big scene! That's awesome! I love all of the personal Heartie touches on the tent—you definitely know which camp it belongs to! So many fun things to spot in this one, I really liked searching around the image!
Andrea: Another hilarious name, and awesome collage. I appreciate the use of the old stove.

Team Squidget

Ben: First of all, I love the name. Keep Squidget alive.Vegemite, Spam, and cookies?! I guess I know a couple cast members who'd be happy with those options... But I'm not one of them🤢Great exception to the no bears allowed rule! That's a good looking outfit! I vote that Kavan and Pascale have a fashion show to show it off
Andrea: Bear repellant unless it's Brownie! Good one! Also, there are super creative hat decorating skills here!

Hope Valley's Hopeful #Hearties

Ben: The camp menu to explain the food is perfect. Because these foods needed explanation! And after reading that menu... I'm hungry. Great camp site! It's already got so many things going!Very practical home comforts for your campers, now all you need is the Keurig machine!
Andrea: The comfort kit! Very original! I like the use of phone/tissues!

Serge Watchers

Ben: Beautiful camp site! It's got it all! I think your song perfectly captures the spirit and purpose of camp hearties: friends, fun, and weekly challenges that pass the time while we wait for a J&E wedding BECAUSE COME ON WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO GET MARRIED ALREADY AM I RIGHT?! I think that watermelon patch is going to be rough on the digestive system...That's such a cozy tent set up! I want to go to there!
Andrea: Adorable WCTH backyard tent! Also, gorgeous campsite! Can I go there?

Thanks to Brownie and S'more points we have a 8-way tie! I'm sure things will shake up over the next few weeks, it will be interesting to see what team(s) pull ahead! Keep up the creativity! I am always blown away by what the teams come up with and how they are all unique! I also enjoy seeing how the teams develop over the month.  See you back here for Week 2 where Teams have a choice between 2 "scenes" they must develop. Should be interesting!

A special Thank You to our judge Ben Rosenbaum, and our guest judge, Andrea Brooks!
